Temperatures

The temperature in Mexico’s Caribbean side is very pleasant year round, but summers can be very hot for travelers. November-March host temperatures in the mid-80’s while April-October averages in the low 90’s.

Rainfall

Rainfall is at its lowest during the months of February to May. However, rain is most likely to occur during September, October, and November.

Sunshine

In this destination, the most sunshine occurs during the months of May to August.

Sea Temperatures

The waters are always pleasant any time of the year in Mexico’s Caribbean waters. Temps rarely dip below 80 degrees for this destination.

If you’re seeking pleasant temps, December to April is a great time to visit this region. Daily temperatures range from mid-70’s to low-80’s. The months of June-October become significantly hot in Vallarta with temperatures peaking well into the 90’s.

Rainfall 

Rainfall is at its highest during the months of June through October as well. November to May are very dry months and excellent for travel.

Sunshine 

The months of March, April, and May bring the most sunshine in Puerto Vallarta with up to 12 hours of sunlight a day!

Sea Temperatures

Water temperatures are pleasant throughout the year, and lean toward warmer temperatures in the 80’s from June through December.

West Mexico: Cabo San Lucas

Temperatures

Masked with a desert climate, Cabo San Lucas can see a variety of temperatures. The hottest temps hit during the day from June through October, reaching the upper 80’s. November to May is much more tolerable with highs in the low to mid-70’s with a pleasant tropical breeze. It’s important to note that December to February can be quite cool, sometimes only reaching the mid to high 60’s.

Rainfall

Rain coincides with hurricane season in Cabo, and is most frequent from June to October. On average, you will have the least amount of rain in January and February.

Sunshine

Cabo sees the most sunlight in March, April, May, and June.

Sea Temperatures

The Sea is at its warmest temperatures, ranging from the upper 70’s to mid-80’s during July to December.

Cancun Jazz Festival

This unforgettable music festival is hosted annually over Labor Day weekend. This year’s event will be held at the Hard Rock Hotel Riviera Maya!

Carnival

Mexico’s version of Mardi Gras is a week-long celebration that generally starts about a week before Ash Wednesday. The streets of towns of all sizes become filled with parades, food vendors, and games to celebrate. We suggest checking out Cancun and Cozumel’s celebrations.

Dia de Los Muertos

The celebration of the Day of the Dead is held throughout Mexico on the last few days of October and first few days of November. Parades and celebrations are held in nearly every city. On Mexico’s East Coast,  check out the world-renowned Xcaret’s Park, “Festival of Life and Death Traditions.”

Spring Equinox

The celebration of the Spring Equinox happens each year around March 20. Head over to Chichen Itza to see the sun align with the ancient ruins. Celebrations and Mayan traditions can be observed here as well!

Mexican Independence Day

Día de la Independencia is always celebrated on the 16th of September each year. If you’re looking to take advantage of some awesome firework shows, it’s the perfect time to do so!

Whale Watching

From December to March, whales descent to Cabo San Lucas and Puerto Vallarta. It’s common to see Mothers and their calves swimming in the bays during this time. Whale watching tours are abundant in these destinations and oftentimes include sights of dolphins, porpoises, and other sea creatures.
